Are you sure you stand behind this line: Our desire is to bring you a truly unbiased, fair and accurate news site that you can depend on, while additionally showcasing the unique and rich culture of the state of Louisiana.
I would not call your article printed last night concerning Mike Mannino accurate. You failed to check your facts or sources and have discredited yourself in my eyes. Did you take separate incidents which involved multiple people and make it look like they all involved the one political candidate. Also Mike was registered as an Independent not a democrat. I don't know where you are getting this bogus information for your rag.

I must continue from my previous post and say to all of you that I am sorry for what my son has done. Your right, Andy is not mentally ill, but; I believe he does have a self esteem problem stemming from his childhood, and the Mother who allegedly raised him. His heart may of been in the right place when making up these stories, but his mind was a part of one of those "War Games" you can play on the TV. My biggest worry is that, if Andy was injured, was he injured being somewhere he was not supposed to be, and being there brought the attack that may have killed good men? And, of course, is this all a story made up by Andy, yet; how could such a lie be believed by the Governor and then reported to the news without someone checking the facts. I guess we will never really know the true facts since 90% of what the Military does is secret, especially when someone screws up. All of you need to remember that Andy has a family that are shocked and upset that he would do such a thing, and me especially since my Military career was mainly the Army National Guard. As a father, I have to weigh all the facts and try to forgive him, but; it's hard, especially when others were killed while he was playing Navy Seal.

Andrew is my son, and I can't even believe his story. It seems strange that an Aircraft Electronics Tech would have been assigned to a SEAL Team. But now, he goes on speaking engagements and shows of his medals like he's a Hero. In this Country, there is a law which provides punishment for something called "Stolen Honor", and I believe he is doing so. He has a Purple Heart License Plate from Louisiana, and a Purple Heart ID from the VA. He may have gotten the Purple Heart in some kind of action, but; I can't believe he was a SEAL Team Member, or Member of any Special Forces.
I have tried filing for his records from the "Freedom of Information Act" but; the Navy will not budge. What kind of mistake did they make, and for that matter, what kind of mistake did the Govenor make by giving Andrew the States highest honor.
This has to be stopped, and even though he is my son, I need your help to stop this injustice to those who bravely put their lives on the line everyday for our freedom. Andrews Awards are a slap in the face to the truly honorable service our young men and women face every day, and this has to stop.
Anyone interested in stopping this injustice, my email address is anthonybryson@hotmail.com, and I would be interested in any and all information you have collected to "debunk" this lie.

5) I don't think Andy has betrayed his country or the men who serve it. The only one he betrayed was himself. Still, Andy is neither mentally ill nor is he a pathological liar. He’s made a mistake and regrets it fully -just dug himself a hole that can be filled in time. I know there will be some who choose to ignore what I say, it is to be expected. …Andy has served in the Navy for eight years and unfortunately did not think highly enough about himself -as if Navy boys are not good enough for the esteem of other service men with or without a trident. As I have said, he is paying his dues now. Shame is upon him and there are plenty of people with enough hatred to hold onto this for a little while. But, Andy will be just fine. I promise you that friend. I hope there are no hard feelings as we share our thoughts here. “This too shall pass,” am I right?

4) I'm not saying Andy's wrong is justifiable, no, not at all. I'm not saying that I regret serving my country, no, never. I am saying that in the grand scheme of things, we should just let it go. I know Andy on a personal level. He's helped me out immensely in the last seven months since I've known him. I've learned only recently that Andy is not a SEAL. It was some tough news to take for sure. I was disappointed, but not deterred, not angered at all. I've served my country, that is all. I take with me from my time there only the essentials. I am glad to be alive. I accept people and their flaws.

We love to cast stones, we do. But the thing for me is this; I see myself as a man locked out of society, not necessarily by choice -unless I am about to waste my time worrying about some other fools choice of words. I choose not to worry about it. I'm done with the military, done with all the pointing fingers and glum faces and sorrow and misery and orders and general issued bs that every service man encounters. The difference between me and the ones who exposed Andy's lie is that I no longer have that mind-set to go out and wreck someone’s life. They are stuck in the military, I am not. I am free now.

2) I have seen death and come close to it here in America. I've questioned the meaning and purpose in my life, I've said goodbye to people who I thought were friends and hello to places I thought would open new doors. It has been a very lonely/angry life, even before the Corps. Out of this strange journey I've realized that things such as these (such as Andy's situation) anger us for only a short while. And during that short while we reflect on our own souls. We compare other men to ourselves and are united in anger towards the one person who we know has done something morally wrong.

Kevin,

1) I understand where you're coming from. Now let me write this with more of a personal flair. ...I have served in the Marine Corps in the 03 field, humped out to Iraq and Afghanistan twice each, lost two good friends out there to anti-personnel and vehicle-borne IEDs. I received my honorable discharge in 2006 and have been travelling through the years ever since. In all my time spent alone, in all those cities and countryside’s I've studied people, read the papers with their acidic politics covering the pages, and listened to youngsters slandering this great country which has given them so much.
