February 19, 2011

Jonathon Perry became the newest elected Republican State Senator tonight winning by 688 votes over his Democratic opponent Nathan Granger. The Democrats entered this race with a 1 member lead in the Senate, but the loss of this seat means that the GOP have control of the State Senate 20-19.

Nathan Granger became the latest Democrat to lose in an increasingly hostile electoral environment for Democratic candidates. Granger pulled in 9,491 votes while Jonathon Perry ended with 10,179 votes. The just shy of 20,000 voters made the turn out 25%.
