Iraq Veteran Joins Alexander’s Staff
Chris Sullivan Will Assist 5th District Veterans
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, is pleased to announce that Chris Sullivan has joined his district staff as a Wound Warrior Fellow.
The Wounded Warrior Program was established to create fellowships that will provide employment opportunities for wounded or disabled veterans within the U.S. House of Representatives.
Sullivan, a veteran of Operation of Iraqi Freedom, will assist and work with veterans in the 5th District.
Alexander said Sullivan will be an invaluable member of his staff.
“Both Chris’ service background and strong character make him a tremendous asset to our team, especially as he works to enhance our veteran outreach within the region,” said Alexander. “My staff and I are fortunate to have him on-board.”
According to Sullivan, he is eager to begin this fellowship.
“I look forward to this opportunity to reach out to veterans and provide assistance with their questions and needs,” said Sullivan. “Although my injuries sustained in Iraq may prohibit my service in combat, I can continue as a public servant. I am not through serving my country.”
During his service in the United States Army, Sullivan earned the following honors:
* Purple Heart
* Army Achievement Medal
* Army Commendation Medal
* Combat Action Badge
* Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal
