WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, has been recognized as a “True Blue” Member of Congress by the Family Research Council Action (FRCAction) and CitizenLink for his unwavering commitment and consistent support in defense of the family.

The award honors Members of Congress who have exhibited extraordinary leadership and commitment to the defense of family, faith, and freedom, according to the scorecard produced by FRCAction and CitizenLink that covers the votes of the 111th Congress. Recipients of the “True Blue” Award voted consistently in defense of pro-life and pro-family issues.

“Members of the 111th Congress who receive this award have shown themselves to be consistent defenders of faith, family and freedom,” said FRCAction President Tony Perkins. “I applaud these Members for upholding the institutions of marriage and family, and protecting life, while also taking a firm stand against the government takeover of health care.

“Voters should be encouraged by the commitment these True Blue Members have shown,” concluded Perkins.

Alexander was proud to receive this important recognition.

“I am honored to accept this award from the Family Research Council,” said Alexander. “As the 112th Congressional Session commences, I remain committed to the strong values and ideals of Louisiana’s 5th District and will continue to fight for our families, faith and freedom.”
