Alexander Encourages Participation in Small Business Symposium
GE Aviation Expanding in Area, Creating Opportunities for La. Small Businesses
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, encourages local small businesses to participate in the upcoming Small Business Supplier Symposium.
GE Aviation and the State of Louisiana will partner to produce opportunities for small businesses in the state. To learn more about the benefits this outreach will entail for North Louisiana, interested businesses should take advantage of the 2010 GE Aviation Small Business Supplier Symposium, at 8:30 a.m. on December 10, 2010 at the IMF Auditorium at Louisiana Tech University. This informative event will provide small businesses with the unique opportunity to connect one-on-one with GE Aviation (GEA), GEA’s regional Tier 1 suppliers, in addition to local Louisiana buyers.
The Committee of 100 Louisiana, The Northwest Louisiana Government Procurement Center (PTAC), and Louisiana Tech University are facilitating this symposium to create new market opportunities for small businesses regionally and across the state. The objective is to match various small business interests with large corporations and defense contractors that offer contract opportunities. Participating small businesses and buyers will have the chance for private appointments, and are expected to ignite new public and private contract leads for your business.
“This symposium provides an excellent opportunity for small businesses in our area to expand and maximize their capabilities. The individual meetings will identify how your commodity focus can be used as GE grows its supplier base in Louisiana. The benefits of attending this outreach event are vast,” said Alexander.
