September 20, 2010

Baton Rouge – A poll released today by Magellan Strategies shows Senator David Vitter with a commanding 18 point lead over Charlie Melancon The poll showed Sen. Vitter beating Melancon 52% to 34%.

“Louisiana voters are especially engaged this year and they recognize that Sen. Vitter agrees with them on important issues like stopping the wasteful spending and big government takeovers,” said Republican Party of Louisiana Communications Director Aaron Baer. “Charlie Melancon’s proven support for Obama’s reckless liberal agenda is demonstrated by his record of voting with the president 84 percent of the time and today’s numbers are a refelection of Louisiana voter’s rejecting of Melancon-Obama agenda. Most recently Melancon sided with Obama on raising taxes, even though 31 other Democrats have already broken with the president and joined most economists in opposition to raising taxes during a recession.”
