Sangisetty To Announce New G.I. Bill

September 17, 2010

“I want better for the next generation of veterans than Washington did for the last.”

HOUMA, La. — Ravi Sangisetty, Democratic nominee for Congress in Louisiana’s Third District, will roll out a plan to make sure veterans can come home to quality healthcare and good jobs.

“As I said in last night’s HTV debate, my first priority as the next congressman from the Louisiana 3rd District will be to draft and sponsor a new G.I. Bill,” Sangisetty said. “Our men and women in uniform fight for our freedoms abroad, we need to make sure they have support when they come home.”

Sangisetty said Washington hasn’t done enough for previous generations of veterans.

“Nearly a quarter of the homeless in this country are veterans. That’s unacceptable,” Sangisetty said. “Soldiers my age and younger are doing the fighting out there. I want better for the next generation of veterans than Washington did for the last. When they come home, we need to make sure they have the thanks of a grateful nation.”
