70% DON’T LIKE MARTINEZ

September 14, 2010

ZACHARY, LA. ———- Connect Call USA, Inc. completed an automated poll Sept.13, 2010 of the citizens of Zachary. They asked “If the election for Mayor of Zachary were held today, for whom would you vote”? Only 33% of those responding said they would vote for Mayor Martinez. When an incumbent politician drops under 40% this generally indicates serious credibility problems with the voters. INSIDE LOUISIANA NEWS will be attending political forums in various areas and will report on the positive and negative that is affecting current office holders. It appears there will be a major house cleaning not only on a national level but also local political office holders will feel the backlash.

Included in the poll was East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor- President Kip Holden’s proposed placing of his bond issue on the April 2011 ballot. Unlike before, this bond issue focuses on law enforcement and construction of a new parish prison and does not include the controversial downtown “Alive” project.

Based on this information, voters were asked “if the election were held today would you vote to pass Mayor Holden’s bond issue”.
YES—————35.04%
NO—————39.37%
UNSURE——–25.59%

Our town is running just fine with Henry Martinez..I have been in Zachary for thirty years and have heard nothing but good even before he became Mayor. You need to focus on the man that wants to be chief of police here.I believe he has a couple of skeletons in his closet and is coming out. Probably only his family will vote for him. Zachary is a wonderful place to live. The only problem many of the people here has is that Zachary is growing too fast. We do have the best schools and that is a good reason zachary is growing. we care about our kids, and so does Henry Martinez.

I received a call from this poll. If Mayor Martinez only received 33% of those responding.. What % did David Amrhein and Stephen Nunnery, the other two running for Mayor receive? Why did you not print those % …maybe they were lower .The second question was asked and ALL results are posted in your story.

Just how many citizens in Zachary answered this poll?????

I disagree with this post and NEVER tell pollsters how I am going to vote. That is my business, not theirs.

We need more accurate, current information on the bond issue before the residents of Zachary, Baker & Central consider it since it has obviously changed drastically since it's introduction. Then, and only then, can we make an intelligent decision.

I don't understand why this campaign propaganda was mailed to me without identifying which party is financing the mailings. Internet postings – maybe I can consider them blog-like, and without cost – but USPostal mail? I'm tempted to vote for Martinez because one of the other two candidates is running a dirty campaign – which I really have problems with!
