Capital City Republican Women to host “An Old Fashioned Stump Speech” on September 15th
Capital City Republican Women is hosting an old fashioned stump speech for all republican candidates that will be on the ballot in October 2nd. This event will be on Wednesday, September 15, beginning at six o’clock in the evening, in the Yvette Marie’s Courtyard (inside Circa 1857), 1857 Government Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
All republican candidates have been invited to participate from Zachary, Baker, EBRP, and Central.
“The purpose of this event,” says Capital City Republican Women, President Sarah Holliday, “is to give candidates for public office an opportunity to address policy issues vital to the district and our state’s future. These issues involve a range of crucial matters that include education, community planning, land use, infrastructure, environmental sustainability, streets and drainage, parks and playgrounds, economic development, school construction, historic preservation, cultural enhancements, and public health and safety.”
Our Master of Ceremony will be Clarence Buggs. After the each candidate campaigns from the stump, members from the audience and news media will then have an opportunity to ask candidates questions.
