BP Oil Spill Operations for May 25th, 2010

Today BP’s operations include:

Task Force P1: Myrtle Grove- deploy 7 vessels for the placement of sorbent boom located at the Myrtle Grove staging area. One shallow vessel skimmer will be deployed to the Barataria Bay area.

Task Force R1: South Pass Inner Bar- 20 vessels and one barge will complete shore line clean up and boom maintenance.

Task Force P2: Pilot Bayou- 4 vessels will be deployed to wrap roseau cane with 4,800 feet of sorbent boom and remove soiled boom.

Task Force P3: Delta Wildlife Refuge- 10 vessels will be deployed to place 5,900 feet of containment boom and maintain current boom.

Task Force R2: North Pass- 17 vessels will be deployed to place sorbent boom and remove soiled boom material. 4 drum skimmers, 4 john boats and 4 air boats will conduct operations.

Task Force P4: Breton Island- 2 vessels will deploy 4,200 feet of containment boom and maintain current boom

Task Force P5: Reneuda Bay/Blind Bay Area- 6 vessels will deploy 6,000 feet of containment boom and maintain deployed boom material.

Deep Water Skimming Assets in area: 1 at Southwest Pass, one at Chandeleur Island and one at Grand Isle.

Shallow Water Skimming Assets in area: 2 vessels at Pass a Loutre, one vessel at Myrtle Grove and 2 vessels at South Pass.

It was reported the there are 63 Deep Water Skimming vessels working in the oil spill area off the coast of Louisiana.
